Join us in September for Colleagues & Friends at Lisson Gallery! Nyasha Foy, Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, NFTs at Sotheby’s, Janelle Lester, Global Head of Compliance at Sotheby’s, and Aimee Scillieri, Vice President, Associate General Counsel at Sotheby’s, will discuss the gender disparity in crypto & NFT spaces, transitioning between industries, and will individually delve into their own career paths.
The discussion will take place at Lisson Gallery in Chelsea. Both their upcoming exhibitions Laure Prouvost: Stranded By Your Side and Jack Pierson: Pomegranates will be on view and available for POWarts members to enjoy the following the discussion.

Nyasha Shani Foy is a multi-hyphenate business and legal affairs lawyer, and creative. She is currently Sotheby’s Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, NFTs, where she advises and counsels the it’s web3 and NFT businesses, as well as the Sotheby’s Metaverse. Prior to joining Sotheby's, Nyasha worked in senior business and legal affairs roles at Buzzfeed, Complex Media, VICE Media Group, and Broadway Video, where she supported brand collaborations, commercial transactions, and activations such as ComplexLand and ComplexCon. In addition, Nyasha serves on the Board of Trustees at Wesleyan University, the Board of Directors for the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association (BESLA), and on the Board of Directors for the Save The Music Foundation.
Janelle Lester is Sotheby’s Global Head of Compliance, where she ensures that Sotheby’s and its employees comply with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards, provides legal compliance advice to business groups around the world, and implements Sotheby's Code of Business Conduct, policies, procedures, manuals, and internal codes. Janelle has previously held leadership positions nationally and internationally at Marsh & McLennan Companies and Forex Capital Markets (FXCM), among others. Janelle has also been recognized as a Forty Under 40 honoree by The Network Journal and serves as a Board Member of the Jumoke Academy, a Charter School in Hartford, Connecticut
Aimee Scillieri is Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, Dispute Resolution at Sotheby’s . She is responsible for managing all aspects of dispute resolution and claims for the Americas, including authenticity disputes, ownership claims, client complaints, and property damage. She also counsels Sotheby’s colleagues on the legal landscape involving auction regulations, advises on industry best practices, and liaises with outside partners such as the Art Loss Register, FBI, Homeland Security and other law enforcement agencies.
In addition to her day-to-day, Aimee serves on the Board of Trustees of the Community Service Society, which provides programs, policy analysis, legal advocacy, and campaigns to expand access to health care, safe and affordable housing, employment, and other opportunities for individuals facing economic hardship, racial injustice, conviction histories, consumer debt assistance, and more—making a tangible difference in the lives of millions. Aimee received her B.A. in Criminal Justice and Spanish from the University of Maryland, College Park, and her J.D. from New York Law School. She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.
Lisson Gallery is one of the most influential and longest-running international contemporary art galleries in the world. Today the gallery supports and promotes the work of more than 60 international artists across spaces in London, New York, Los Angeles, Shanghai and Beijing. Established in 1967 by Nicholas Logsdail, Lisson Gallery pioneered the early careers of important Minimal and Conceptual artists, such as Art & Language, Carl Andre, Daniel Buren, Donald Judd, John Latham, Sol LeWitt, Richard Long and Robert Ryman among many others. It still works with many of these artists as well as others of that generation from Carmen Herrera to the renowned estate of Leon Polk Smith.
In its second decade, the gallery introduced significant British sculptors to the public for the first time, including Tony Cragg, Richard Deacon, Anish Kapoor, Shirazeh Houshiary and Julian Opie. Since 2000,the gallery has gone on to represent many more leading international artists such as Marina Abramović, Ai Weiwei, John Akomfrah, Susan Hiller, Tatsuo Miyajima and Sean Scully. It is also responsible for raising the international profile of a younger generation of artists led by Cory Arcangel, Ryan Gander, Van Hanos, Hugh Hayden, Haroon Mirza, Laure Prouvost, Pedro Reyes, Wael Shawky and Cheyney Thompson.
